Revisiting my 201K
Lynn, my better half, is starting a new sewing project, and requested I set up the 201K for sewing some heavy nylon. I put in a Schmetz size 18 Jeans needle to match the Gutermann M782 upholstery thread. I also filled a bobbin and changed the foot to a zipper foot as she is intending to start at the zipper.
Of course I had to check the tension and stitch quality. I haven’t used this machine since I finished my 319K, and had forgotten just how good it is. I have a cheap Chinese hand crank fitted, and my custom adapter on the balance wheel, and it works really nicely, fast enough to wind a bobbin quickly, but controllable enough to stitch long straight seams when required. The stitch quality is so good!
I do love this machine as a hand crank machine!
