Autumn raged
Along the forest floor
Burnt the leaves and hurled them down
She seethes and fumed and screamed with fury
Cursing with a frosted tongue
Autumn wept
Racing through the silent field
A golden figure, slowly burnishing
Cold breath rasping
Harsher, louder, crueller
Autumn turned
Down the slowly chilling glen
A smooth silken cloak slid, dusting the valley floor
Pale eyes watched the faintly golden figure
As Winter followed
