Singer 319k and storage box<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

One problem with having a few machines, you tend to collect a lot of bits and pieces, which are not often required, but need to be easy to find when you need them. My particular problems are bobbins – 7 machines that use three different types of bobbins, and a collection of empty and part full examples of each,
\nfeet – each machine came with a cardboard box with a ruffler and a variety of feet, the swing needle machines added to the variety
\nAnd needles – many sizes of 15×1 universal needles, twin needles, double eye needles, short point needles (206×13) for the 306 and 319 before I replaced their bobbin cases, round shank needles (DBx1) for when 206×13 don’t have the right size, and also to use on my Hand Und Neu Gloriosa when I get round to restoring it.
\nI also have two full sets of fashion discs, one original vintage full set of type A discs, and one full set of ELNA type 1 fashion discs ‘translated’ into Singer Type A format.
\nStuff used when sewing (threads, pins, magic clips, chalk) are a whole other problem.
\nI needed something of the right size, versatile and within my budget. Spotlight, our local big store haberdashery had some metal drawer sets which had a very masculine appeal, rugged, tough, lots of corners, runners and over centre clips, but nice colours that suit a sewing room decor. Just $30 and my wife encouraging me to buy one sealed the deal.
\nPretty basic, 27 by 15 cm by 22 tall, a 5cm high drawer, two 3cm high, and a lid on the top with 6cm of space under it.
\nI printed some plastic inserts, one for the bobbins, up to 72 of them, one for the feet (up to 27 of them) and one for packs of Schmetz needles (up to 20). I already had boxes for the two sets of fashion discs.<\/p>\n
